The area of the installation, located in the shadow of the church of Sant Feliu and perched above the square of Cul de la Lleona, becomes an emblematic space for the city: it dominates the pedestrian walkway of Sant Feliu, gateway to the old town for everyone who comes from the Jardins de la Devesa, becoming a true urban viewpoint from which to see the town and its surroundings to the west. Its elevation, almost 8m with respect to Cul de la Lleona, gives the space the added value of being a gap through which the landscape of the historic center can be approached, which climbs up the hill, until reaching the Cathedral. Flortena is intended as an urban re-creation, a landmark in the middle of the city that orients and welcomes the citizen and the visitor to Temps de Flors. The installation, made with inflatable elements, is fixed with specific elements to the ground of sauló. The column of air rises like a flower suspended more than 30m above the ground, visible from the most unexpected corners of the city… buildings, churches, parks, stairs, streets, squares, bridges and homes will have, at least for a finite time, a new watchtower as a fleeting neighbor.
