Converting a multi-family house into a single-family home is the starting premise of the project. To improve the light and health conditions, in a program that in addition to bringing together conventional uses, includes uses as diverse as a gym, garage, study, workshop, penthouse,…
The project is structured around the courtyard/interior garden and the crugia that describes the “annex” added in the mid-20th century. The existing building belongs to a vernacular architecture from the late 19th century, characterized by an incipient rhythm of openings to the street and by the absence of openings to the courtyard. The distribution is reversed and the house is turned towards the courtyard/garden. The staircase is located in the east corner of the house and follows the crugia of the annex. This crugia brings together the entire public program (along with the ground floor), with the dining room and kitchen on the ground floor, the living room and study on the first floor and the guest room and terrace on the second floor.
