Memory

Temporary exhibition dedicated to traditional Korean crafts within the framework of the Milan Triennale and Furniture Fair 2014.
The criterion for the distribution of objects follows the precepts of Feng Shui and the symbolic correspondence between the cardinal points and the materials used. The wooden objects are located on the east side, the metal ones on the west and the mother-of-pearl seats, as well as the ceramic pots, are in the central area, defining the earth element. The central space is a meeting point for visitors and at the same time, an opportunity to verify the sound of the bells that will spread their sound around the exhibition.
The criterion for the exhibition of the objects has the will to value the material from which they are made. The objects are presented on supports conceived as islands, freely placed on a white ground, adapted in this case to the second floor of the Milan Triennale, but easily modifiable in case the exhibition has to be itinerant. The supports must be as functional in the course of the exhibition as possible.
The message of the exhibition indicates both the origin of the country’s artisan tradition and the desire to explain current manufacturing methods.
