The Piu-Piu lamps are a unique design made for a renovation of a single-family home in the Penedés. One of the main conditions was the adaptation of the support to the inclined plane of the lower roof. The lamps allow the rotation of the arms on the vertical axis thanks to the same geometry of the piece, with a cantilever in the form of a triangular bracket, which also serves as a handle. The lamp can therefore be faced towards the fireplace area of the house or used as a supporting light for the living room and dining room. The proposal takes special consideration of its unstable nature, in a precarious balance due to its geometry and arrangement on an inclined plane. Its commercial name comes precisely from the comparison with the Barcelona Easter tradition of “the egg dancing” and the agricultural origin of the farm, dedicated to raising poultry. Among the peculiarities of the design we can highlight the minimization of the upper trim, which is a sleeve between the lower and upper supports, or the possibility of including more lamp units in the central stem in a simple way, varying the length of the central stem and screwing it back into the support. The connections and bulbs are visible and white, to favor the neutrality of the design within the home, where it must give prominence to the residential spaces, but they were conceived to have different possible finish colors.
